Shield is the fourth child born to Parrish and Rhonda Taylor. He has one older sister, Skylar Spree Taylor – the oldest. Two older brothers, Suede Owen Taylor and Slayte Chandler Taylor.
Raised in an athletic family, Shield excelled early in both athletics and academically. Consistently achieving high scores in the class room and developing year around sports with Football, Baseball, Soccer and Track & Field.
